Rebooting Computing

I had the opportunity to attend a conference run by Peter Denning, distinguished professor at the Naval Postgraduate School, and tirelesws crusader for computer science education. Over 240 computer professionals, including many from industry, K-12, and academia.

There may have been too many voices there, but it was exciting to be in the company of such august and brilliant folks. I know by naming names I slight some. Forgive me.

Grandkids

Phil and I are keeping our granddaughters for a couple of days while their dad heads to Washington, DC and their mom is in California filling our the paperwork to change from an Ilog-er to an IBM-er.

Yesterday's trip was to Walmart to spend their gift card money -- Camille got Star Wars figures and Chloe increased her already huge collection of stuffed animals with a dog in a purse.

Today's trip was breakfast at Waffle House. Camille made fast work of a waffle with whipped cream and strange, square blueberries on it. Chloe made quick work of the whipped cream and did a fine job of cutting the few pieces she did eat.
